Methods
- The Zaryte crossbow makes ruby bolts hit for 110 and is typically the most powerful spec weapon for DPS, assuming the target has 500 HP or more.1
Stats and numbers
- After Nex's defence change, Gnomonkey says the Zaryte crossbow is about 9% better than the Twisted bow when ranging the boss in this setup.2
- The Zaryte crossbow's special attack is now better than the Voidwaker's against Nex since her defence was changed, so Gnomonkey says the Voidwaker is more of a budget option and not mandatory.3
- At Doom of Mokhaiotl the Zaryte crossbow spec is typically used right before or after shield phase, so it hits around 90 to 100 rather than its full hit; it is a guaranteed hit on car phase and otherwise about 85% accurate.4
Tips

- Gnomonkey says that whenever you range Nex you should use the Zaryte crossbow, that you need it 100%, and that the Twisted bow is for the minions; before the update the Twisted bow was slightly better in max gear.3
- Gnomonkey says many ranged builds in Leagues 5 use the Zaryte crossbow 'bug' where you brew to 0 stats and spam Zaryte crossbow specs without losing spec energy.7
- Gnomonkey chose not to use the Zaryte crossbow spec bug because it sounds boring, though he acknowledges it is another way to annihilate ToA at high invocations.7
