Stats and numbers

  • Nex rolls her punch against 335 crush defence in Torva, so there is a good chance you take a zero, and every zero taken saves brew and brewing time.1
  • In Gnomonkey's calcs, Zeal does not change armor choices: at Maiden fully drained, Oathplate with a Torva helmet is 1% worse than full Torva, but two Oathplate pieces plus a Torva helmet still reach the 52 max hit needed.2
  • In Gnomonkey's calcs, at Verzik phase 2 the Oathplate-with-Torva-helmet setup is 4% worse than full Torva, so the Theatre of Blood armor meta stays the same with Zeal.3

Tips

  • Do not do P2 melee without Torva, and do not do it in Bandos because it is not worth it.4
  • He starts in maximum tank gear with maximum potions for a first cape and only brings range switches on money runs to speed things up.5
  • You still run full Oathplate in Chambers of Xeric challenge mode for the higher overload strength boost, while in teams you can run full Torva where you can drain defense to zero.3

  • Gnomonkey predicts Torva armour (helmet, chestplate and legs) will be Nex's main big-ticket drop, each piece giving a dramatic strength bonus increase over Bandos, for a total of +8 strength, along with higher defence stats.6
  • Gnomonkey predicts each Torva piece requires shredded Bandos armour: the body needs three components, legs two and helmet one, with a Bandos chestplate giving three components and tassets two; he expects the components and the repaired Torva to be tradable.7
  • Gnomonkey doubts this will dramatically increase the price of Bandos but expects it to help keep it at its current price.7
  • Gnomonkey expects Torva to be best in slot anywhere Bandos was used and to replace Inquisitor's armour in many places, such as challenge mode raids, the Kalphite Queen and Cerberus, and to be her most valuable drop.8

Trivia

  • Torva pieces, Zaryte vambraces and the Zaryte crossbow all count as Zaros items, so praying at the altar in whatever you are wearing gives full stats.15
