Stats and numbers

  • Project Rebalance makes damage and accuracy bonuses from Ink armour, including the set bonus, triple while using the Ink mace, raising a full set's bonus from 2.5 percent to 7.5 percent total damage and accuracy.1

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says nobody wanted this change; people wanted a much higher hammer chance, higher crush bonus and tankier Ink armour, which is currently at the level of Adamant armour; effectively the mace is now best in slot at Nightmare and that is it.1
  • Gnomonkey does not understand trying to make the Ink mace a gap filler up to the scythe, since a full Ink set and mace is probably as rare as a scythe or rarer.2
  • Gnomonkey says ink armor was designed before Torva existed, is very rare and not very useful, and should compete with Torva and be better than Bandos in all use cases because it is much rarer and from a harder boss.3
  • Gnomonkey suggests removing its adamant-equivalent defence bonuses, making it about Bandos-level or a little worse than Torva, raising its crush accuracy bonus a lot, and removing the negative stab and slash bonuses.3
  • Gnomonkey says ink armor's main use is buffing your hammer's accuracy, but players in places like CM use Torva instead, because Torva does much more damage and ink's negative slash and lower strength hurt a scythe.4
  • Gnomonkey says the crystal armor style set bonus for the ink mace does not change when anyone would use it, and he thinks ink armor will still be useless except at the Nightmare.5
  • Gnomonkey says he heard from DPS calc people that this is actually a nerf in many cases if wearing the full set, and only a buff when wearing the Slayer helmet, and he thinks Jagex may have intended to make it usable piece by piece.6

Events

  • Jagex's revised proposal gave each piece of ink armor plus 2.5% damage and accuracy when used with the ink mace, instead of requiring the full set, so it can be used on Slayer tasks.7
  • Ink armor (Nightmare-style 'Ink' set) loses its set bonus and each piece gets much higher bonuses.6
