Stats and numbers
- Project Rebalance gives the Elder maul a special attack costing 50 percent spec energy that reduces the target's defence by 35 percent, compared to 30 percent for the Dragon warhammer.1

- Elder maul is really strong at Tekton so Ink mace would probably not be brought there.2
Gnomonkey's opinion
- Gnomonkey finds the Elder maul buff very questionable, as there are already tons of crush weapons and he does not see it fitting the game if it is just a good crush weapon.3
- Gnomonkey says the Scythe and the Inquisitor's mace need love, noting the mace's only use, at Tekton, has fallen to the wayside with the Chambers QoL; devaluing them further seems like a bad idea, and the Elder maul would likely only make other items useless unless it does something unique like the Soul Reaper axe.4
- Gnomonkey says buffing things simply because they are rare is typically not a good idea; he points to how rare corpse shields are, saying that if they blocked so much damage they were useful they would trivialise content, especially the Inferno, and the Elder maul might be the same.4
- Gnomonkey says this makes the Elder maul a direct upgrade to the Dragon warhammer: more accurate, drains more defence and does not need an off-hand like an Avernic defender.5
