Methods

  • When four or more healers are touching Jad, he out-heals Thorns damage and stays at permanent full health, so Gnomonkey runs up and uses the Den's bulwark special attack to tag the stragglers stuck behind Jad and bring him down.1

Stats and numbers

  • The old max tank setup with a Zamorakian hasta had a max hit of 41 and much lower accuracy and defence, which Gnomonkey says makes the bulwark the clear choice for tanking at bosses.2
  • Den's bulwark is unique because it is the only two-handed shield that you can attack with.3

Tips

  • The Dinh's bulwark is great for the special attack and that is about all he uses it for in the melee Inferno.4
  • Because Den's bulwark is a two-handed shield you can attack with, Gnomonkey could safely use it with both blind bag and Thorns without his shield being taken off randomly, as would happen with a one-handed weapon.3

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says the bulwark tank setup is incredibly powerful and the tank takes very little damage; the primary bosses needing a tank are the God Wars bosses.2
  • Gnomonkey says the bulwark typically kills things at Inferno and is really good at it, and you can expect it to do that the majority of the time.5

  • The bulwark was changed relatively recently (as of late 2021): it now has negative magic defence but is a 5-tick weapon, and its max hit scales with your defence bonuses up to a max hit of 46 in max tank gear.2
