Tips

  • Gnomonkey dodges Cerberus's initial lava pool by moving under him with correct timing, which he finds a little interesting.1

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says Cerberus has an algorithm to his auto attacks you could learn to protect against everything, but calls it insanely difficult and not worth the effort; the ghosts only require switching prayer to the ghost colour every two ticks.2
  • Gnomonkey rates Cerberus C tier, saying half the fight is pretty much AFK; the most interesting thing is running a resupply alt.1
  • Gnomonkey says Cerberus is no longer a 'chug prayer potion boss' to the same degree, and that the Ward of Arceus effect stacks with a spectral spirit shield, though you do not need one to kill Cerberus.3
  • Gnomonkey says Cerberus's ghosts take a huge chunk of prayer points even when the mechanic is done correctly, and he is torn because he likes timing the Sinister Offering spell on ashes to negate a ghost for about two prayer points.4
  • Gnomonkey considers the Cerberus ghost mechanic archaic design that only shortens trips and wastes supplies without making the boss harder, and would rather have the ghosts damage you unless you pray like every other boss.5

Events

  • Cerberus teleport scrolls (Cerberus teleport) are made more common and tradable.6
  • The Ward of Arceus now protects against prayer drain by 30%, so Cerberus ghosts drain 20 prayer points instead of 30; it also works against Yama's prayer drain and K'ril Tsutsaroth's melee special.6
