Summary
Ahead of Jagex's Summer Sweep-up update, Gnomonkey presents a long wish list of quality-of-life and balance changes he collected from Reddit, Discord and Twitch plus his own ideas, covering skilling, Slayer, pets, death mechanics, PvM, weapons and Combat Achievements. He then goes through bigger reworks outside a sweep-up's scope, including the Corrupted Gauntlet Bow of Faerdhinen grind, the Ironman identity problem, Lunar spells, bolts and a Hardcore Main server idea.

Topics covered
Opinion: Summer Sweep-up wish list
- (0:00) Gnomonkey describes the Summer Sweep-up as spring cleaning for Jagex: balancing things, fixing clunky UI features and cleaning up existing parts of the game.
- (0:27) Gnomonkey thinks many of the suggestions he has seen for the Summer Sweep-up are questionable, because Ironman mode was meant to be a challenge separate from the main game and many people now just scream for drop rate buffs.
- (1:00) Gnomonkey says quality of life is about balancing things that are out of whack for the whole game, not buffing drop rates because Ironmen are unhappy with a specific grind such as the Corrupted Gauntlet.
- (1:27) Gnomonkey expects sweep-up changes to be small in scope and not include things like new Echo bosses, new drop tables or moving items between drop tables.
- (1:04:04) Gnomonkey says he considers the Summer Sweep-up one of his favourite newer updates, even over new content, and hopes it continues as a yearly roadmap item, with bigger skilling reworks left for a separate roadmap.
- (1:04:04) Gnomonkey says he sifted through a lot of bad and interesting ideas for the wish list and tweaked them to the point where he thinks they would be good additions to the game.
Farming
- (3:02) Gnomonkey suggests farming patches get a darker shade when composted, with the shade deepening up to ultracompost, so players can tell at a glance that a patch has been composted.
- (3:31) Currently there is no way to tell that a patch has been composted without running up to the patch and using inspect.
- (3:31) Gnomonkey wants farmers' stores to sell a spade, since a spade is needed to plant things and dig up dead crops and is the most important farming tool.
Agility
- (4:01) Gnomonkey wants early Agility rooftop XP rates increased slightly, because going from Draynor at 9 to 10k XP per hour to Al Kharid gives only about 1k XP per hour more, which hardly feels worth the trip.
- (4:01) Gnomonkey says the Agility rooftop XP curve has a small increase up to Canifis followed by a massive jump at Falador, and suggests raising the lower courses by around 5k XP per hour.
- (4:30) Gnomonkey says low run energy early on an account feels really bad because you are walking everywhere, and he would like Agility made a little easier in general.
- (4:30) Gnomonkey suggests giving energy potions a 15 second stamina effect and super energy potions a 30 second stamina effect, since both are currently useless and made in bulk and never touched.
- (4:59) Gnomonkey suggests that a stamina effect on energy potions could be used at Blast Furnace by drinking a dose every lap.
Slayer
- (4:59) Gnomonkey says the Slayer helmet recolours cost around 9,000 points to unlock all of them, and the level 99 Slayer helmet needs another 1,000 points, which he considers absurd.
- (5:25) Gnomonkey suggests making Slayer helmet recolours a one-time 1,000 point unlock for combining cosmetics with the helmet, or making each cost between 100 and 200 points.
- (5:58) Gnomonkey argues the reward of a Slayer helmet recolour is getting a cool boss drop and putting it on the helmet, so grinding Slayer points to sync it is silly and has no benefit.
- (5:58) Gnomonkey suggests being able to toggle Slayer task extensions on and off once unlocked, for example extending demonic gorillas while doing the Zenyte grind then turning it off.
- (6:28) Gnomonkey says revenants are the only Slayer task that can be turned on and off for free, and the wiki has a toggle column purely because of it, so the coding already exists.
- (7:01) Gnomonkey proposes a prefer task option costing around 100 points with three prefer slots, giving the preferred task double weight at Slayer masters, so players can steer towards things like black demons for a Zenyte grind or good XP or money tasks.
- (7:31) Gnomonkey says a prefer task option would reduce the need to do lots of Turael skipping, make Slayer less of a slog (one of the longest grinds on an Ironman), and help in getting an imbued heart.
- (8:02) Gnomonkey suggests all Slayer bosses getting a very rare imbued heart drop at around 1 in 5,000, like a Slayer pet, similar to how the Onyx and Draconic visage are on several drop tables.
- (9:03) Gnomonkey suggests the Slayer master prompt asking whether you want a harder Slayer master, which appears every time when swapping masters through NPC Contact, should be toggleable off.
- (37:28) Gnomonkey would like some Slayer levels rebalanced, such as the Kraken trident drop at 87 Slayer, which he thinks should be in the mid-70s because players now rush Doom of Mokhaiotl and have many ways around it.
- (38:01) Gnomonkey says Cerberus is at an incredibly high Slayer level for the tier of loot it gives, and that a number of Slayer unlocks could drop by five to ten levels because they no longer fit the progression.
Imbued heart
- (8:02) Gnomonkey says the imbued heart is one of the hardest items to get on an Ironman and is ridiculously rare.
- (8:30) Gnomonkey suggests every Slayer boss have a roughly 1 in 5,000 chance to drop the imbued heart, so players who enjoy Slayer bosses slowly work towards it.
Fletching
- (9:29) Gnomonkey notes javelin shafts are not made from all log types like arrow shafts are, and can only be obtained from regular logs or as drops; he suggests they should work like arrow shafts.
Mixology
- (10:03) Gnomonkey says only the goggles of the Mixology outfit do anything at the minigame right now.
- (10:03) Gnomonkey suggests each piece of the Mixology outfit automate one of the three machines' bonus actions, so wearing the outfit gives faster AFK Mixology, which he thinks would not be broken because Mixology is slow.
- (10:35) Gnomonkey likes the Mixology outfit buff because it only works in the minigame, so the outfit is not necessary everywhere like the graceful outfit.
Pets
- (10:35) Gnomonkey suggests pets should stay next to the player at all times, since they often disappear after entering an instance and the player may not notice for half an hour or forget they had it out and lose it.
- (11:35) Gnomonkey suggests allowing pets in more places, such as underwater seaweed runs, perhaps with a fishbowl, and at Nex where the pet can be there when you get it but cannot be taken in again.
- (12:02) Gnomonkey says pets feel so awkward and annoying to use, with having to put them in the bank and take them out, that he often does not bother using a pet even with a cool rare drop.
Hardcore Ironman
- (12:02) Escape crystals detect if a player disconnects and teleport them the next time they take damage, with a configurable timer, and cost 75k because they are the same as the crystals for Theatre of Blood.
- (12:32) Gnomonkey says early on a Hardcore Ironman escape crystals are unaffordable, and a player probably only has the money around a total level of about 400.
- (13:01) Gnomonkey suggests the wizard who sells escape crystals hands a new Hardcore Ironman a free bundle of three the first time, and that the mysterious stranger outside Theatre of Blood gives another three as a bonus for reaching it.
- (1:00:39) Gnomonkey says he lets his wife do boring grinds off-stream on the Hardcore accounts he plays because he does not like Ironman and finds getting things himself a waste of time with content he does not enjoy.
- (1:01:11) Gnomonkey says players who constantly make Hardcore after Hardcore and push dangerous content, such as Hardcore Grandmasters, would be the audience for a Hardcore Main mode without Ironman grinds.
Aldarium
- (13:33) Aldarium was added to Custodian stalkers at a very rare drop rate of around 1 in 60, which Gnomonkey says means it is barely adding to a bank because players do not kill them often.
- (14:06) Gnomonkey suggests adding Aldarium as a rare drop to tough endgame bosses such as Doom of Mokhaiotl (only after a certain delve depth) or the Fortis Colosseum (after a certain wave), as it is an endgame potion ingredient and would give those loot tables better common loot.
Theatre of Blood
- (14:37) Gnomonkey wants Theatre of Blood party order to be static, with the creator staying leader forever, because currently the first to die in a wipe becomes leader and leaving order must be waited out.
- (15:05) Gnomonkey sees no reason for the party order of Theatre of Blood to ever change.
Death mechanics
- (15:05) Currently, if a player dies at places like Theatre of Blood, Hespori or Nex and then dies a second time before reclaiming their items, everything in the reclaim chest disappears.
- (15:35) Gnomonkey says Alchemical Hydra is probably the most common place he has seen people lose all their items to this double-death because of floor damage on the way back.
- (15:35) Gnomonkey suggests items lost to a second death move to Death's Coffer like with graves, rather than disappearing, including untradeables such as void.
- (16:04) Gnomonkey says losing items from a reclaim chest sinks nothing out of the game and only makes players sad.
- (16:04) The previous Sweep-up changed autocast so that in most situations it is kept after death, but dying with a staff equipped still loses the player's autocast.
- (16:31) Gnomonkey says losing autocast after death is common at Yama, where players run up to hit an orb, and Doom of Mokhaiotl's leeches where he goes to cast at a mage grub.
Blorva kit and awakener's orbs
- (16:31) The ancient blood ornament kit drops on the fourth unique awakened boss killed, and is used to turn Torva into Blorva.
- (17:02) Gnomonkey suggests the ancient blood ornament kit act as a reusable awakener's orb, similar to the Echo orb from Leagues, because the only reason to fight awakened bosses now is to do it once for Blorva.
- (17:34) Awakener's orbs cost 450k each at the time of the video, ranging between roughly 200k and 1 million, and each attempt at an awakened boss uses one.
- (17:34) Gnomonkey argues that awakener's orb costs are not a big sink post-Blorva because few players bother doing the bosses again.
- (18:06) At 39 kills per hour of Vardorvis, Gnomonkey says orbs add only about 200k GP per hour of profit, a little less than the diamond, which is not a major drop.
- (18:32) Gnomonkey says awakened bosses have three times higher drop rates but often take more than three times as long to kill, with the Awakened Whisperer taking about four times as long, so they are already balanced by kill time.
- (19:03) Gnomonkey says Awakened Leviathan and Awakened Vardorvis are insanely good bosses in his top five in the game, but they are effectively blocked unless a player is filthy rich.
- (19:03) Gnomonkey suggests the reusable orb idea could apply to Radiant bosses too, though Radiant already drops the contract if completed, so it matters less there.
Barrows
- (19:03) Gnomonkey proposes a chance for the Barrows chest to give a partially used, untradeable strange old lockpick of around 10 to 25 charges instead of bolt racks.
- (19:34) Gnomonkey notes players typically do not kill Barrows before the Hallowed Sepulchre because the Sepulchre needs Sins of the Father, so the strange old lockpick is mainly for clogging outfits like the Dharok set.
- (20:07) Bolt racks replace rune rolls in the Barrows chest and require a very high reward potential to receive.
- (20:07) Gnomonkey's lockpick idea would give a trade-off where killing more tunnel creatures for reward potential gives the lockpick to skip doors, allowing faster kills per hour, and keeps the Hallowed Sepulchre lockpick valuable.
Leaderboards and high scores
- (20:34) Gnomonkey wants in-game boss kill-time leaderboards fleshed out for bosses with different scales, noting Yama only has one for duo scale and not solo, and for older bosses like General Graardor.
- (21:06) Gnomonkey suggests high score leaderboards for competitive PvM speedruns such as the Inferno, Challenge Mode Chambers and the Colosseum, so people can see the best players without sketchy Discords or websites.
- (21:39) Gnomonkey says speed times are kept all over the place and people often do not know what the records are.
Cerberus
- (21:39) Gnomonkey says Cerberus's ghosts take a huge chunk of prayer points even when the mechanic is done correctly, and he is torn because he likes timing the Sinister Offering spell on ashes to negate a ghost for about two prayer points.
- (22:13) Gnomonkey considers the Cerberus ghost mechanic archaic design that only shortens trips and wastes supplies without making the boss harder, and would rather have the ghosts damage you unless you pray like every other boss.
Opinion: Ghommal's lucky penny
- (22:44) Ghommal's lucky penny is the master tier Combat Achievements reward, which goes in the ammo slot and has a 5 percent chance to save charges on a list of items.
- (23:12) Gnomonkey considers the lucky penny one of the top five dumbest items added to the game, because it occupies the ammo slot so players cannot use ammunition, a bow or a quiver.
- (23:38) The lucky penny saves charges on many items including the ash sanctifier, bone crusher, celestial ring, crystal pickaxe, crystal axe, crystal halberd and crystal harpoon, but not the Blood fury.
- (24:38) Gnomonkey suggests the lucky penny apply only to bossing items such as scythe, crystal, blowpipe and Blood fury charges, with a 10 percent chance, and instead of an ammo-slot item should be an effect from talking to Ghommal.
- (25:31) Gnomonkey says he has used a huge number of Blood fury charges and calls himself a master-tier player in the top 1 percent of the player base.
Ghrazi rapier
- (25:59) Gnomonkey calls the Ghrazi rapier the black sheep of the high-level weapons, very useless compared to the Osmumten's fang.
- (25:59) Gnomonkey relays a Reddit idea to make the Ghrazi rapier three-tick while sharply lowering its strength and stab bonuses, making it a fast attacking weapon.
- (26:25) Gnomonkey thinks a three-tick rapier would be probably the new best in the Nylocas room of Theatre of Blood, and useful against bosses that can be fully drained of defence like Maiden and Xarpus.
- (26:58) Gnomonkey thinks a three-tick rapier would compete with the blowpipe against low-defence Slayer monsters and would also raise the cannon's accuracy, since the cannon rolls off the main accuracy style.
- (27:32) Gnomonkey does not like the Blood rapier idea (adding a blood shard to give passive healing), arguing passive healing is either useless like the Sanguinesti staff or broken.
Sanguinesti staff
- (27:59) Gnomonkey says the Sanguinesti staff became very useless after the Eye of Ayak came out and its price dropped to around 20 million.
- (28:28) Gnomonkey suggests reducing the Sanguinesti staff's charge cost from three blood runes to two or one per cast, since at three it costs nearly as much per hour as the Tumeken's shadow.
- (28:28) Gnomonkey suggests giving the Sanguinesti staff an extra base max hit, so with big boosts like salt in Tombs of Amascut it would be closer to the Eye of Ayak.
Tonalztics of Ralos
- (29:01) The Tonalztics of Ralos is the rarest drop from the Fortis Colosseum, and its special attack drains defence based on the target's magic level, a small amount so only high-magic targets like Maiden make it useful.
- (29:34) The Tonalztics of Ralos has about a 1 in 85 drop rate from the Colosseum, roughly a 42-hour grind at 30-minute clears, almost twice as long as getting a dragon warhammer and a Bandos godsword.
- (30:33) Gnomonkey suggests making the Tonalztics a useful main-hand weapon with three-tick attack speed and DPS similar to the Bow of Faerdhinen that is also good on dart-weak targets like shamans, keeping the spec the same.
- (31:03) Gnomonkey alternatively suggests doubling the defence drain so it is closer to an elder maul, or making it a gimmicky spec weapon with a drop rate around 1 in 30.
Player versus player
- (31:32) Gnomonkey says PvP is a blind spot for him and he would only ask that PvP be made more similar to the main game, giving anglerfish not overhealing in active combat as an example of an unnecessary difference.
Opinion: Colosseum invocation overhaul
- (32:05) Gnomonkey says the Fortis Colosseum's difficulty is very RNG-heavy because invocation options can be very easy or offer nearly impossible choices on wave 11, like Bees, Totemic and Red Flag.
- (33:05) Gnomonkey suggests a Tombs of Amascut style board system that lets players pick the invocations for each wave, tailoring difficulty to gear and run type and removing the RNG of failing to get a first quiver.
- (33:38) Gnomonkey says many people reset the Colosseum until they get perfect spawns and invocations for their first quiver, and he thinks the Colosseum should be consistent but hard like the Inferno while staying faster paced.
Nex
- (34:06) Gnomonkey says the previous Summer Sweep-up changed Nex so Blood reavers heal you for the full damage you deal to them, she can be damaged between phases, and mage attacks in the last phase can be prayed if the prayer is up in time.
- (34:35) The previous sweep-up made Nex melee three times minimum in a set before she resumes using magic, meant to reduce damage and align Nex with another boss's design.
- (35:03) Nex remembers her melee count between phase transitions and special attacks, and if a set of three melees is interrupted by a mage she will run up later for one or two more; with an intentional six-tick step-under she has about a 95 percent chance to do another set of free melees.
- (35:31) Gnomonkey advises that against the new Nex, you should pre-melee a lot more than before.
- (35:59) Gnomonkey despises the Nex melee change, calling it an insane amount of complexity that is not worth bothering with because it saves only a little mage damage.
- (36:27) Gnomonkey says that in the final phase of Nex you can just pray melee the whole time and catch the occasional mage prayer, because she melees you most of the time.
- (36:27) Gnomonkey, who enjoyed Nex before the update, no longer does it and would love Jagex to revert the melee change and keep the rest, which he says are solid.
Lunar spellbook
- (38:01) Gnomonkey says Lunar spells have been the redheaded stepchild since thralls came into the game, because thralls give better DPS than Vengeance at around 99 percent of bosses.
- (38:34) Gnomonkey says Vengeance in PvM is only reachable with Spellbook Swap, which is unwieldy, and that bosses like Vorkath and the Nightmare are immune to Vengeance.
- (39:06) Gnomonkey says utility spells like Heal Other, Cure Me and Pot Share are fun in raids but worse than thralls for damage, so they are rarely used.
- (39:33) Gnomonkey suggests putting Lunar utility spells under a raid whitelist so they work on Ironmen only in raid encounters, such as pot sharing, healing other or spec transfer, and fixing Vengeance Other.
- (39:33) Gnomonkey argues that restrictions on Ironmen being helped in raids are meant to prevent boosting but boosting happens regardless and only hurts real players who want to play with friends.
- (40:03) Gnomonkey suggests Jagex review bosses immune to recoil and remove Vengeance immunity on some bosses.
- (40:36) Gnomonkey suggests an untradeable boss-drop spell upgrade that allows a group Vengeance affecting up to five teammates, so one person acts as the venger.
Soulreaper axe
- (41:03) The Soul Reaper axe takes 8 hitpoints per swing for up to five swings, costing up to 40 health before it does its full damage.
- (41:34) The Soul Reaper axe takes about 3,000 Desert Treasure 2 boss kills on average to obtain, almost as long as a scythe, and is worse than the Noxious halberd in many situations.
- (41:34) Gnomonkey suggests the Soul Reaper axe reach full power at two charges instead of five while still banking up to five, so bosses with downtime like Bloat or Sotetseg's maze do not wipe its stacks.
- (42:01) Gnomonkey says the change would make using the Soul Reaper axe's special attack for quick HP less punishing, since only two charges are needed afterward, as at Vardorvis where players spec at 50 health and then cannot hit.
Corrupted Gauntlet
- (42:34) The Bow of Faerdhinen is a 1 in 400 drop from the Corrupted Gauntlet, but Ironmen are only done once they also have all the armour seeds.
- (43:36) Gnomonkey says getting all the Corrupted Gauntlet armour seeds takes around 300 kill count on average, so even getting the Bow of Faerdhinen on the 10th kill count still leaves a long grind.
- (44:06) Gnomonkey says that if you get the Bow of Faerdhinen early, the grind is at minimum around 200 to 300 kill count, and in the thousands if very unlucky because the enhanced seed has not dropped.
- (44:06) Gnomonkey suggests an untradeable shard drop, similar to Yama, obtainable passively, that lets players craft either an armour seed or a weapon seed, with the seeds made a bit rarer, to hedge against going dry.
- (45:09) Gnomonkey, citing a chat member (Husky), agrees that the Bow of Faerdhinen is an endgame weapon grind people do in the mid-game, because the requirements to get in are very low, such as one hard quest and no gear or death cost.
- (46:13) Gnomonkey believes the Corrupted Gauntlet is a hard, high-level piece of content, so the answer is not to make the Bow of Faerdhinen quick to obtain; the grind is reasonable in hours for how good the weapon is.
- (46:45) Gnomonkey says the Bow of Faerdhinen is used almost everywhere until a Twisted bow and does not need to be made more common, so he favours giving more avenues to get around needing it.
- (50:12) Gnomonkey notes that on a main account you can still play like an Ironman and, after about 1200 kill count without an enhanced seed, simply buy it instead of being locked in.
- (59:37) Gnomonkey believes the crossbow rework and side-grade options would be a subtler fix for the Corrupted Gauntlet grind than making the Bow of Faerdhinen easy to get.
Opinion: Ironman identity
- (46:45) Gnomonkey says many players see Ironman as the way to play, but he argues it is meant to be a challenge you do once very prepared, not the only way to experience RuneScape.
- (47:12) Gnomonkey believes players should not make an Ironman if they are not prepared for its grinds, and that if realizing at the Gauntlet that it sucks to get everything yourself, Ironman is not for them.
- (47:45) Gnomonkey considers himself a main player at heart and thinks new players should think twice before picking Ironman as their first experience, since the game is intended to be played as a main with Ironman as a bonus game mode.
- (48:16) Gnomonkey says the game should not be balanced around players who play eight hours a day, nor around those who play 30 minutes a day, and it is okay for some grinds to be long.
- (49:14) Gnomonkey suggests that the Tutorial Island guide who turns an account into an Ironman should display strong warnings that it is a challenge mode where you get everything yourself.
- (49:42) Gnomonkey says many WoW players who came to RuneScape started as Ironman and burned out on tough grinds, and he thinks Corrupted Gauntlet complaints come partly from Ironmen's psychological approach.
- (50:44) Gnomonkey wishes more players treated Ironman as the challenge game mode that it is, instead of feeling handcuffed and quitting rather than de-ironing.
- (53:15) Gnomonkey says Jagex has left Ironman in a gray area where it is a solo challenge mode yet players team up for raids, and Jagex needs to decide which it is.
- (53:43) Gnomonkey argues most players prefer Ironman to be about getting items yourself and to allow group content with friends, and that the game should be fun first.
- (53:43) Gnomonkey argues the game should not be balanced around bad actors such as boosters or bots, so content should not be made worse because of them, and Jagex should crack down on boosting after making things fun.
- (54:42) Gnomonkey says Jagex's rules priorities have shifted over time, citing that they no longer ban people for buying Inferno capes, and still allow megascale cox, so killing God Wars with friends should not be the biggest concern.
God Wars Dungeon and Corporeal Beast drops
- (50:44) Gnomonkey wants God Wars Dungeon and Corporeal Beast to use Nex's damage-contribution drop system, so that two players splitting damage 50/50 each have a 50 percent chance at the rare drop.
- (51:17) Gnomonkey says nearly every modern group boss, such as the Titans and Yama, uses the Nex-style drop system, while old group bosses have not kept up with modern design.
- (51:47) Gnomonkey wants the contribution drop system to apply to Ironmen too, so an Ironman fighting General Graardor with a main gets partial contribution and drops.
- (51:47) Gnomonkey says God Wars bosses are the last bosses designed for groups that Ironmen must solo, which requires specific gear like a Bow of Faerdhinen, Tumeken's shadow or a dragon warhammer, making progression walls.
- (52:45) Gnomonkey admits killing Bandos with a Bow of Faerdhinen would be much faster than a duo because of long respawn times, but a duo approach would offer a way to kill the boss without that specific item, such as a zombie axe.
Crossbow bolts
- (55:12) Gnomonkey says crossbows up to the Zaryte crossbow are propped up by ruby bolts, which on bosses with 500 or more health do up to 100 damage with a 6.6 percent proc chance even if the hit would have been a zero.
- (55:42) Gnomonkey says ruby bolts always have a 6.6 percent chance to hit 100 regardless of Ranged level, which makes crossbows really hard for Jagex to balance.
- (56:10) According to Gnomonkey, ruby bolts were uncapped until Chambers of Xeric released, and Jagex capped them at 100 after Olm in a large raid showed it was a problem.
- (56:38) Gnomonkey proposes that bolt procs create a separate bonus hitsplat instead of morphing the main hit, with ruby damage capped around 50, so better crossbows scale with the bolt.
- (57:43) Gnomonkey says Jagex has been adding new unique crossbows with their own ammo, like the Sunlight hunter crossbow, and he thinks Jagex needs to look at all bolt effects eventually.
- (57:43) Gnomonkey says many bolt effects do almost nothing, citing pearl bolts that do about five damage of water splash.
- (58:10) Gnomonkey suggests turning useless bolt effects into bonus splats, for example emerald bolts giving a high poison hit of around eight damage, and tying jade and pearl bolts to earth and water elemental weaknesses.
- (59:10) Gnomonkey says such a crossbow rework would be massive and would warrant a beta, and thinks Jagex should bring betas back for changes at this scale.
- (59:37) Gnomonkey says scaling crossbow power would give another route around the Bow of Faerdhinen, such as killing Zilyana in a team for an Armadyl crossbow as a side-grade.
Opinion: Hardcore Main server
- (1:00:39) Gnomonkey pitches a Hardcore Main so players like him are not forced to play an Ironman but could still enjoy the risk of PvM on a Hardcore.
- (1:01:44) Gnomonkey's pitch is hardcore servers where the entire world is dangerous, logging in puts players into a separate profile with a fresh economy separate from the main game.
- (1:02:11) In Gnomonkey's pitch, dying wipes the character's progress including skills, quests and diaries and puts the player back in Lumbridge, keeping only the bank.
- (1:02:11) Gnomonkey thinks items that are dangerous to get, like the Void Waker, would become really valuable in a separate hardcore economy.
- (1:02:39) Gnomonkey would keep bank items on death because muling would otherwise be a huge problem, and keeping the bank makes muling effectively pointless.
- (1:03:09) Gnomonkey worries about botting, swapping, PvP, cheating with AHK and DDoSing on a hardcore server, and suggests trying it as a temporary game mode like Fresh Start Worlds, perhaps for six months with a competition.
Deadman Mode
- (1:04:37) Gnomonkey says Deadman Mode is coming at the beginning of June and he is participating, and mentions people showing up in Chicago whom he may meet.
