Methods

  • Open the Mad Angel fight with protect from melee and Piety, and use your special attacks right away; the dragon mace is okay as a budget spec and a Dragon warhammer would be better for draining her defence.1
  • Mad Angel mage attack: this timed mage attack is guaranteed to be a max hit for you if you click protect from magic as soon as her wings are all the way backwards, and you take zero damage.2
  • Mad Angel sweeping arc attack: run across and attack every time she turns to you; she repeats this about five times.2
  • Mad Angel's last attack: stand on the orb so it bounces off her repeatedly (the third bounce is the last) doing a lot of damage; if you miss it she hits the whole arena with a shockwave that damages you.3

Tips

  • Base 70 to 75 melee stats are enough to kill the Mad Angel.4
  • Gnomonkey's budget gear for the Mad Angel is a Zombie axe, dragon defender, barrows gloves, berserker ring, mixed hide boots or some melee boots, fire cape, glory and Blood moon; he says armor barely matters and even rune armor would do fine.5
  • A Zombie axe on crush is nice against the Mad Angel because she is quite tanky and crush punches through her defense.5
  • You can one-tick the protect from magic prayer to catch the Mad Angel's mage attack without timing the wing cue, and it also works with an offensive prayer up.3
  • Near the end of the kill the Mad Angel spams the mage attack repeatedly, which Gnomonkey says means the boss dies quickly.6
  • The Mad Angel has a heavy weakness to crush; the Fang is okay because she is not very tanky against stab, but you should ideally use a crush weapon.7
