Tips

  • Gnomonkey uses the weapon attack timer metronome so that, as soon as the attack counter ticks from one to zero, he catches a fish; attacking and fishing alternately saves roughly three ticks per fish.1
  • You can also tick manipulate fishing from range with a staff against a demi-boss, and filling a vial at a fishing spot can be used to three-tick a fish; all his tick manipulation saved around 20 game ticks.2
  • When you have lost ticks (gone into negative on the attack timer), eating a piece of food lets you reclaim them; Gnomonkey has a short video on how to eat in Old School RuneScape.3
  • Tick eating: eating as an attack lands when you are very low lowers the boss's max hit to your current health, which saves damage.4
  • Gnomonkey recaptured three game ticks in a Corrupted Gauntlet run by eating before switching weapon and attacking instantly after the style swap; he says to use fish to recapture lost ticks when you make a mistake.5

Gnomonkey's opinion
