Requirements

  • The only hard requirement for point boosting is having the combat level to use a better Slayer master for your tenth tasks.1

Methods

  • Slayer point boosting means using Turael for nine tasks of your task streak and then using Konar or Duradel for the tenth task in a row to rapidly increase your total Slayer points.2
  • For gear Gnomonkey wears his best ranged gear and an expeditious bracelet, and says the blowpipe is huge.3
  • Gnomonkey's boosting inventory includes a skull sceptre, chronicle, a rune pouch with NPC Contact runes, a pile of chinchompas for monkey tasks (not too many in case you die), Desert amulet 4 (or a glory to reach Al Kharid), a quest cape, two expeditious bracelets, a rope, stamina, divine ranging and a prayer potion.4
  • He also brings a Dinh's bulwark with a quick four-way melee switch (boots, cape, amulet), a cannon with a pile of cannonballs, Xeric's talisman, an ectophial, a gnome seed pod, a slayer ring, ice coolers, a digsite pendant and a max cape, replaceable with a construction cape.4

Tips

  • Gnomonkey calls point boosting an amazing option for quickly gaining points for the main Slayer unlocks such as superiors or slayer rings, or for buying slayer helmet recolours.2
  • Gnomonkey starts every new account with some Slayer point boosting to rapidly unlock superiors as well as some blocks.1
  • To do Turael tasks quickly, Gnomonkey says to have a decent house with lots of teleports unlocked: a jewellery box, a nexus with the main teleports, and a fairy ring and spirit tree; decent ranged gear with a blowpipe also helps.1
  • Point boosting benefits greatly from the Inventory Setups plugin on the RuneLite plugin hub, which saves your setups and sorts your bank to show only what you need, as gearing up otherwise takes way too long.5
  • Gnomonkey gives a shoutout to the then-recent Bank Tag Layouts plugin, which makes it much easier to gear up for almost anything.3
  • If you do not have a max cape for a light source, Gnomonkey says to swap the boots for a Bruma torch (headgear or similar slot) as a light source, and without a construction cape you need Taverley house tabs, which leaves no way to restore.6
  • Gnomonkey recommends moving your house to Taverley if you plan to boost a lot, as it is the only quick teleport to the dwarves.6
  • While boosting you want to be on the Lunar spellbook to cast NPC Contact to call Turael for another task, and you can right-click the spell to contact the last contacted NPC, which Gnomonkey says he took an embarrassingly long time to learn.7

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says that if you do not have the Zeah elite diary done, it is probably best to stick with Duradel for the tenth task, as Konar gives a lot of terrible tasks.8
  • Gnomonkey says that with Rada's Blessing 4 he would do tenth tasks at Konar, as you get additional points and can teleport directly to her.9
  • Gnomonkey says point boosting gives better points per hour than Wilderness Slayer if you do not redo your blocks; if you want every helmet recolour it might be worth making a new block list for Wilderness Slayer, but for a pile of general unlock points he sticks with point boosting.9
