Methods

  • Gnomonkey's regular Gauntlet speed boss fight stays near the boss and lets health drop until it is 21 or lower, then flicks Redemption so an attack that drops him below 10 triggers the heal.1

Stats and numbers

  • Redemption triggers when you are attacked at under 10% of your max HP (typically 9), taking all your prayer points and healing you 24 HP.2
  • In the regular Gauntlet Hunllef's max hit with no armor is 12, so at 12, 11 or 10 health you should eat rather than go for a Redemption, unless you have no fish left.1
  • In the Corrupted Gauntlet Gnomonkey says the boss max hit is 13, so at 13 or lower you must eat, and you start flicking Redemption between attacks when you are at 22 health or lower.3

Tips

  • Stay within one or two tiles of the boss when going for Corrupted Gauntlet Redemptions, because his projectile travel time depends on your distance and being next to him makes the hit land instantly, giving you more time to put prayer back up.4
  • Gnomonkey advises only going for Redemption when tornadoes are up if there is a good distance to the tornadoes; otherwise focus on eating.5
  • Ideally take a prayer potion sip after a Redemption, and flick prayer to keep your prayer points if you can get another Redemption.5
  • Click Redemption as soon as you see Hunllef's attack animation start; this works even against the attack that turns your prayer off.6

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says Redemption is one of his favourite prayers because it needs careful planning, knowledge of the opponent's max hit, or a well-placed tick eat to safely proc it.2
  • Gnomonkey proposes an ancient prayer that activates like Redemption, taking all prayer and healing, but also buffing your next attack's damage by roughly 5-10%, to encourage playing at low HP and prayer and timing special attacks or slow weapons after activation.7
