Update: Raids 4 rewards blog is an update topic that Gnomonkey covers in 3 videos between 2026-03-05 and 2026-07-07. This article is a stub: his statements are grouped by type, repeated ones merged.
Stats and numbers
- In the blog Jagex says players feel Chambers of Xeric has too many rewards, Theatre of Blood too few, and Tombs of Amascut a good number but with rarities that could be shifted.1
- The blog defines a mega rare as an absolute powerhouse, undisputed best in slot and a valuable pickup for any player; Jagex thinks it should probably be a weapon.2
- For a raid armor set, the blog says Jagex wants it to be outright best in slot and not too niche (more like Masori and Ancestral than a niche set), plus one to three standalone rewards that are strong in a niche, such as Elder maul, Dinh's bulwark, Osmumten's fang and Lightbearer.2
Tips
- Gnomonkey encourages viewers to give Jagex feedback and reward ideas, since the blog shows they are stuck and want to know what the community feels.3
- He will not be doing calcs in this video, only giving general vibes on where items will be good from a design standpoint.4
- He put the proposed Raids 4 rewards into the calcs (Gearscape) before making this video so he could see how they work in the game as a whole.5
Gnomonkey's opinion
- Gnomonkey says much of the blog is 'vibes coded', pointing to the earlier Mocha mage cape offering that players disliked because capes have always been aspirational content in RuneScape.6
- Gnomonkey considers the Raids 4 rewards very solid overall: the crossbows are incredibly cool and powerful, the Rondache is a neat idea for an offensive shield, and the Breaker will shake up the meta at bosses such as Doom and Nex.7
- Gnomonkey thinks the teleport reward is fair because Tormented Demon scrolls will be fairly close anyway, so players choose between a slightly closer teleport or these scrolls from Tormented Demons.8
- Gnomonkey says the only reward he does not like from the blog is the hybrid armour, saying really strong hybrid armour is not a good direction for the game, while everything else sounds really good on paper.9
- Gnomonkey says he has no numbers yet to tell whether anything is broken or too weak and that there could be blind spots in his takes.10
- Gnomonkey considers the updated Raids 4 reward list a solid offering; his main tweak would be making the Gatekeeper's cane spec more accurate.11
- Gnomonkey is worried the Breaker mega rare is now too weak and may never be used unless a boss has crush as its lowest defense, where it was previously too strong; he thinks a balance somewhere in the middle is needed.12
Events
- Jagex published a blog about what they are considering for potential Raids 4 (The Fractured Archive) rewards, including what a mega rare could look like; Gnomonkey made the video the day after his previous video, which had suggested this topic.13
- Jagex says that once they are confident they are on the right lines they will work on specific reward concepts and hope to show them to the community before summer.3
- At the end of the blog Jagex said they have not forgotten questions around limited builds and possible changes to the Shadow if they explore the magic reward space, and will address both in the coming months; Gnomonkey reads this as a potential Shadow rework coming fairly soon.14
- Jagex released the Raids 4 rewards blog (for the Fractured Archive raid) the day after Deadman Mode ended.7
- The blog proposes an untradeable ancient convenience item that gives unlimited teleports back to the Fractured Archive, so players no longer run out of Gethixian temple teleport scrolls.4
- Jagex published an updated blog about the rewards for Raids 4 (the Fractured Archive), including new items and clarifications of how older proposed rewards work.5
- With the hybrid armor removed, the Fractured Archive is left with only three tradable rewards on offer, so Jagex says it has more space to fill.15
- Jagex says it would rather ship Raids 4 with five rewards players are excited to see than three exciting rewards plus four that make players roll their eyes, aiming for no dud drops.15
- He will make a Maggot King opinion video soon and another Inferno teaching stream using giga max gear, with the new Seeker arrows and the new necklace of rupture.16
