Requirements

  • Blood Moon Rises requires A Night at the Theatre, which Gnomonkey jokes will now make people beg for carries, and 74 Slayer, a high requirement, plus 74 Woodcutting.1
  • The bank chest near Castle Draken must be built using items, and for an Ironman this requires Sailing.2

Stats and numbers

  • The Blisterwood flail upgrade is a four tick weapon instead of five tick, with a 25% damage and accuracy bonus against vampires and no unique special attack, making blood shards much easier to get.3
  • A new stab special attack weapon costs 50% special energy, always deals 70% of its maximum damage on a successful hit, and finishes off the target if its remaining HP is below that value, making it an execute weapon.4
  • A new Woodcutting method gives semi-AFK 50 to 60k XP per hour and produces bloodwood sap, used to make seeker arrows.5
  • The rest of the Blood Moon Rises requirements are manageable and line up with the needs for Song of the Elves on a new Ironman, and Gnomonkey believes the hard one is 74 Slayer.6
  • The Blood Moon Rises rewards include a best-in-slot ranged amulet upgrade (necklace of rupture), a devastating new crush spec weapon (the crimson kiston), and an ammunition upgrade for all arrows (seeker arrows).7

  • Gnomonkey thinks the execute spec would be useful for finishing each phase of Fasani and bosses in Tombs of Amascut such as Kephri and Akkha, and calls it a neat gimmick spec that will see use.5
  • Gnomonkey considers the tweaks to the Blood Moon Rises rewards, which curb power creep slightly, generally good changes for the game.9
