One-tick flicking is a mechanic topic that Gnomonkey covers in 2 videos between 2023-03-07 and 2025-02-26. This article is a stub: his statements are grouped by type, repeated ones merged.

Tips

  • You do not need one-tick flicking for the Inferno at all; it only speeds things up a bit and lazy flicking will get you all the way.1
  • Learning lazy flicking is useful even if you can one-tick, because it locks in the attack timing of mobs so you can flick them better.2

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey sees no reason to prevent one-tick flicking with the listed prayers, calling it arbitrary like the lack of a spec orb in the Wilderness, and says it lowers the skill cap and makes flicking more annoying.3
  • Gnomonkey says lazy flicking is not easier than one-tick flicking and usually takes more effort, and that one-tick flicking is balanced by being unable to do anything else while doing it.4
  • Gnomonkey calls Reddit's claim that one-tick flicking is simply infinite prayer points ridiculously ignorant, and says preventing it just makes Inferno and high level Tombs of Amascut more annoying while not affecting other content.5

Events

  • Jagex said in the prayer blog before this one that they would make one-tick flicking impossible as a trade-off with the new prayers; Gnomonkey assumes they are sticking to it as the new blog did not mention it.3
