Requirements

  • Gnomonofly requires keeping at least 25 spec energy, because you spec one of the orbs with the purging staff later in the cycle.1

Methods

  • When the orbs spawn in Gnomonofly you go to tile one and one-shot an orb with a three-way purging staff setup: purging staff, occult necklace and tormented bracelet.2
  • After the first orb you run to tile two, prime your spec and click the other orb, then on the XP drop run to the jelly tile, swap back to melee and hit, which stands in for tile three of the cycle.2
  • For the second set of waves in Gnomonofly you go to tile one and hit, then run a square pattern and click to the blue tiles individually, which forces a five-tick Emberlight hit and skips the next wave.3
  • After dodging the second set of waves you run to the after-waves tile and hit, which stands in for tile five, then continue the cycle from tile one.4

Tips

  • Per the description, the Gnomonofly cycle is Monofly for three cycles, kill orbs at tile 1 and 2 with Mark of Darkness, Tormented bracelet and Occult necklace plus double death charge, then repeat Monofly until tile 5 again.5
  • From tile one you can range all the orbs; it does not matter which orb you click, you just have to click an orb.2
  • By the time of the next set of jellies you have usually killed the boss; Gnomonkey says many of his solos end as the first set of orbs come out.6

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says Gnomonofly is incredibly difficult, not for typical players, but worth learning for players grinding the pet who are solid at the game, speeding kills by about 30 seconds on average.7
