Methods

  • The higher a Slayer task's weight, the more likely you are to be assigned it.1

Tips

  • Gnomonkey advises always prioritising blocking the highest-weight tasks you do not do, and skipping the tasks you cannot fit on your block list.2
  • The easiest way to make a block list, according to Gnomonkey, is to open your Slayer master's wiki page, order tasks by weight from top to bottom, highlight monsters you would not want to kill, block the top six you would not do and skip the rest.2
  • The Stop the Wyvern Slayer reward costs 500 points and blocks Fossil Island wyverns without taking a block slot; Gnomonkey says it is not worth buying if you would not get more than 16 of these tasks by 99, but he thinks you would.3
  • Gnomonkey tells viewers not to copy his list exactly but to use his info to form their own block list.4

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says what to skip or block is extremely hard to answer, is different for every account and depends on the stage of the account; the video only gives his personal skip/block list and reasoning.1
  • Gnomonkey says not to follow his exact list because it is pretty easy to burn out doing Slayer, and that if you hate even Dagannoth you should not be afraid to block them.2
  • Gnomonkey says wyrms are a definite skip: bad Slayer XP and GP an hour even with a lance, similar to drakes, and their magic attacks can hit hard if you have lower Magic or are not ranging.5
  • Gnomonkey skips aberrant spectres: they use magic attacks, give terrible XP an hour, average only 2k GP a kill, and require a nose peg, so they cannot be done without a Slayer helmet.5
  • Gnomonkey skips fire giants: about 40k XP an hour as a cannon task is mediocre, drops are not great, and it is a long task with no superiors that he finds boring.6
  • Gnomonkey skips skeletal wyverns, but with a dragon hunter crossbow they can be safe-spotted for over 1m GP an hour with terrible Slayer XP an hour.7
  • Gnomonkey skips spiritual creatures: they can only be fought in the God Wars Dungeon, with awful Slayer XP and GP an hour since the dragon boots drop is pretty rare.7
  • Gnomonkey skips steel dragons: even with a lance and noted steel bars from kills in Brimhaven Dungeon they are terrible XP and relatively bad GP an hour.7
  • Gnomonkey skips Fossil Island wyverns: you could power through them with a lance but drops are not great and XP is bad.8
  • Gnomonkey says iron dragons are even worse XP and GP than steel dragons and not worth doing under any circumstances, even with a lance and noted iron bars.9
  • Gnomonkey says cave horrors are a definite skip: the black mask drop is a 1 in 512 drop, so you get one about every three tasks on average, they are terrible money and XP, and not being able to wear a torture amulet is a hindrance.10
  • Gnomonkey skips elves: a really bad task for both money and XP, and methods like cannoning at the Prifddinas market or AFKing at Mourner HQ are awful.10
  • Gnomonkey considers waterfiends a terrible task with awful XP and GP and a hard skip, joking they might be worth it for crimson charms if Summoning were added.4
  • Gnomonkey calls red dragons not worth unlocking unless you are an Ironman after keys, as they give bad XP and GP.4

Events

  • As of September 2020 the video description lists Gnomonkey's blocks as Abyssal demons, Black demons, Cave krakens, Drakes, Greater demons and Hellhounds, though in the video he says he recently unblocked Abyssal demons, Hellhounds and Greater demons after getting a twisted bow.1
