Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey's boss tier list ranks bosses purely by how much he enjoys them, based on their skill floor and skill cap; he says it is opinion.1
  • In the final order, Gnomonkey places the Inferno at the very top of S tier, with Theater of Blood content, Fight Caves, Verzik Vitur, Nylocas, and the Great Olm following in S tier, with Challenge Mode Chambers of Xeric near the bottom of S tier.2
  • Gnomonkey puts The Gauntlet at the top of A tier, with Nex above Phosani's Nightmare and Hallowed Sepulchre right below Nex; Maiden of Sugadinti is the best of the A tier Theater of Blood fights.3
  • In B tier Gnomonkey places Zalcano, Tempoross, Tekton and Xarpus hard mode toward the bottom, with Dagannoth Kings toward the top, Kril Tsutsaroth a step above Vanguards, and Vanguards above Vorkath.4

Trivia

  • Gnomonkey defines a skill floor as how difficult content is to jump into (a higher floor is worse), and a skill cap as how skilled you can become before the content peaks out (a high cap is good); he says some content has an infinite skill cap.1
  • In the tier list, the greyed-out versions of top bosses are the hard mode variants of Theater of Blood bosses, which he rates separately because they are mechanically different.6
  • Gnomonkey does not rank Challenge Mode variants of Chambers of Xeric bosses separately because they just have higher defence and health and are the same fight.7
