Raids invalidation is an opinion topic that Gnomonkey covers in 1 video on 2026-03-05. This article is a stub: his statements are grouped by type, repeated ones merged.
Gnomonkey's opinion
- Gnomonkey says that if the Twisted bow were no longer best in slot, Chambers of Xeric would be done much less even though it has other good drops like the Dragon hunter crossbow, Ancestral armor and Elder maul.1
- Gnomonkey says Theatre of Blood purples have become less useful over time: the Ghrazi rapier was overshadowed by the Osmumten's fang, Sanguinesti staff and Justiciar armor are relatively useless, leaving Avernic defender and Scythe of vitur as the only impactful ones.1
- Gnomonkey says Theatre of Blood is probably the last raid an Ironman would do, who would rather do Chambers of Xeric for its useful purples and Twisted bow, and that every Tombs of Amascut purple is impactful.2
- Gnomonkey says raids must not be invalidated because they arrive only every two to four years at this rate, take huge effort from Jagex and the community, and represent old school PvM as a whole.3
- Gnomonkey says that if a raid came out every year it might be fine to invalidate older ones, but at the current release rate it does not work.4
- Gnomonkey gives Bandos armor as acceptable invalidation: Blood moon armor has about the same stats, many Ironmen skip Bandos, yet it is still needed to make Torva, and old mid-level content can become low-level content.5
- Gnomonkey says power creeping mid and low-level content works better than power creeping endgame raids, because endgame content that becomes irrelevant is skipped entirely, like Phosani's Nightmare, where none of the drops are useful, and a whole raid is a lot of content to invalidate.6
- Gnomonkey says that if a Scythe 2 existed, players would enter Theatre of Blood only for the Avernic defender, effectively not doing the raid.7
