Topics covered
Tombs of Amascut
- (0:00) Gnomonkey remade his 300 invocation Tombs of Amascut guide because of the Summer Sweep-up changes, saying 300 invocations are a great place to learn the raid.
- (0:00) After the Summer Sweep-up changes to Tombs of Amascut, purple chances were nerfed only for raid levels above 300, so players doing 300 or lower have not had their purple rate nerfed.
- (0:00) After the Summer Sweep-up changes, Baba no longer hurts the player through prayer and Akkha's chip damage was reduced by roughly 50%.
- (6:17) Gnomonkey says the Tombs of Amascut boss order should always be Baba first (after the Monkey room), Kephri second, Zebak third and Akkha last, with basically no exception except at very high raid levels; he says this gives the easiest raid.
- (6:53) Before entering Tombs of Amascut, Gnomonkey pre-pots with a Chugging barrel containing stamina, divine super combat, divine ranging, extended anti-venom and prayer regeneration potions; he calls it expensive but worth it.
- (6:53) Gnomonkey says an extended anti-venom taken before entering is long enough that the player does not need to bring sand fever (Sandfew) potions to avoid poison into Kephri; if you do not have the extended anti-venom, bring the Sandfew potions.
- (7:23) Gnomonkey eats an anglerfish before starting the raid to get back over 121 hitpoints with all the potions boosted.
- (24:35) In the Zebak puzzle room, Gnomonkey uses a jug on the water and on the tree (which can save a tick), runs through the spikes without taking damage, and kills the crocodile if it starts eating the tree after a mistake.
- (38:10) Gnomonkey says that if you make mistakes in a 300 raid you can spam brews freely because supplies are not an issue, and that salt (Salts) restores stats so you can brew as much as you want when salted.
- (58:27) In his test run Gnomonkey's raid took about 30 minutes, and he estimates a clean 300 run would be roughly 10 to 15 minutes faster than before the changes; his recorded video run was about 49 minutes because he was talking.
- (58:27) Gnomonkey says 300 raids are very easy compared to what they used to be, that they have effectively been buffed because they are much faster, and that you do not need much gear to do them.
Raid level
- (5:23) Gnomonkey describes a 300 raid level as a mid-level raid, with many players starting around 150, and says he has two decent invocation setups for 300.
- (5:46) Insanity is worth 50 raid level points, which Gnomonkey says is the most raid level of any single invocation; in the description he says learning Insanity is the best thing you can do for the free 50 points.
- (57:30) Gnomonkey announces he will make an ironman version of the guide, 500 invocation guides, pet mogs, and a Master invocation guide explaining all invocations, when to take them, and how to progress to 500s.
- (58:27) Gnomonkey notes that 300s keep the same purple rate and are not affected by the nerf to purples at higher raid levels.
Invocations (Tombs of Amascut)
- (5:23) Gnomonkey's 300 invocation setup in this video includes Overlords, which spawns extra mobs at Kephri.
- (5:46) After the update, the extra mobs spawned by the Overlords invocation at Kephri have very low defence and are easy to deal with, so Gnomonkey says it used to be a bad invocation but no longer is.
- (5:46) Gnomonkey says people are scared of the Insanity invocation but he finds it really easy to deal with and considers it hyped up.
- (29:56) Gnomonkey says the Upset Stomach invocation can be handled using the same blockade solves: top left for the first set of barricades and the middle of the room for the second set at Zebak.
- (50:00) To survive Insanity at Warden, Gnomonkey dodges in a left, middle, right pattern because tiles are thrown every three ticks and there is a two-tick grace period before they can hit you.
Tombs of Amascut gear setup
- (0:37) Gnomonkey wears Blue moon armour in ToA because it acts as both strength armour and mage armour (equal to Ancestral for magic) while also giving a strength bonus, though it is thin armour.
- (0:55) Gnomonkey says an Osmumten's fang is desperately needed for Tombs of Amascut and he would not recommend doing it as a main without one; at the time of the video it cost roughly 20 to 30 million gp.
- (1:25) Gnomonkey wears Barrows gloves (which double as ranged gloves), Dragon boots and a Lightbearer, saying Lightbearer is cheap and lets you spam specs without hurting melee DPS much.
- (1:25) Gnomonkey strongly recommends bringing a Blood fury while learning ToA because it completely negates Akkha's chip damage and recovers from mistakes, though it is semi-expensive; he also lists Torture and Rancour as good alternatives.
- (2:07) Gnomonkey says the Bow of faerdhinen setup in this guide costs about 200 million gp for the ranged setup, and later says the Atlatl setup costs about 25 million compared to the Bofa's 180 million.
- (2:07) Gnomonkey says the Bow of faerdhinen is super good in ToA, the best DPS on Akkha in this setup, and is used on Zebak and makes the Monkey room easier.
- (2:28) Gnomonkey brings a blowpipe mainly for utility (guaranteed max hits in the Monkey room and parts of Baba, tagging swarms at Kephri and shooting Akkha's shadows) rather than for raw DPS.
- (3:01) Gnomonkey's magic switch is a simple trident of the swamp with occult necklace, imbued god cape and tormented bracelet, with a Book of the Dead as the offhand switch for thralls.
- (3:01) Gnomonkey says thralls add 0.625 DPS, meaning about two thirds DPS on every boss, which speeds up the raid by several minutes especially with weaker gear because the number is static.
- (3:26) Gnomonkey says you do not need Blood barrage in this raid and recommends double Death charge, noting it is a free slot because Either runes count as both soul and cosmic runes and the runes fit in the rune pouch.
- (3:26) Gnomonkey's supplies for the early rooms are brews, restores, a divine ranging potion and a divine super combat potion, both used at Kephri.
- (59:20) Gnomonkey says players without the money for a Bow of faerdhinen can use an Atlatl, which he calls a super cheap and good ranged option, and he plans a separate guide for it.
Bandos godsword
- (3:56) In ToA, Gnomonkey says the Bandos godsword is amazing because boss defence is multiplied off the raid level and starts very low, so a small hit drains defence dramatically.
- (4:00) Gnomonkey uses the Bandos godsword at Baba, Kephri, Zebak, Warden phase 1, phase 3 and phase 4.
- (4:00) Gnomonkey says the answer to whether to bring a Bandos godsword or Burning claws is to bring both, using the godsword to drain defence and the claws afterwards.
- (11:29) At Baba, Gnomonkey spams Bandos godsword specs until he has dealt 20 damage, saying 20 is the damage cap in almost every ToA room, and then switches to Burning claws.
- (41:52) At Warden phase 1 Gnomonkey spec with Bandos godsword until he has dealt 40 total BGS damage, using the whole spec bar if needed, and later aims for 60 total damage on the enraged final phase.
Burning claws
- (4:28) Gnomonkey says Burning claws are one of the few special attacks whose attack style can be changed, so everything in ToA being weak to stab means they can be set to stab for a super accurate special attack on every boss.
- (4:28) Gnomonkey says at a 300 raid level Burning claws cost about 10 million and will beat a Voidwaker, and he recommends bringing them.
Dragon dagger
- (4:55) Gnomonkey says a Dragon dagger is needed for Warden phase 2 because the core takes guaranteed max hits on weapons, and that no other spec weapon can be substituted there.
- (5:22) Gnomonkey says an Abyssal dagger does not work as a substitute for the Dragon dagger at the Warden core because it maxes lower.
Monkey room
- (7:36) In the Monkey room Gnomonkey enters wearing ranged gear without the Bow of faerdhinen equipped, drops a few potions on the ground, then equips the bow to start tagging monkeys.
- (7:53) Gnomonkey says the Monkey room is a puzzle room and is probably the hardest room of the raid, harder than the bosses, even though two waves were removed.
- (8:26) There are red, green and blue monkeys that follow the combat triangle, and using the correct style on them is a guaranteed max hit, so Gnomonkey only uses one-way weapon swaps.
- (8:26) After the update shamans take guaranteed max hits from ranged, so Gnomonkey kills them with two blowpipe shots; curse baboons are also guaranteed max hits with ranged and he kills them with the Bow of faerdhinen.
- (9:00) In the Monkey room Gnomonkey swaps to fang with Piety for the green monkeys and to the trident for the red monkeys, switching between Piety and Rigor and never needing Augury.
- (9:00) Gnomonkey says the Monkey room shamans have 50 health and the Bow of faerdhinen hits about 48, so it just barely does not one-shot them, which is why he uses two blowpipe shots.
- (9:30) The exploding volatile baboons deal a lot of damage and are probably the main way people die in the Monkey room; Gnomonkey says to avoid standing next to them when they blow up, and they also blow up other monkeys, which he uses to clear them.
- (9:30) In the Monkey room, Gnomonkey pours the stinky potion into a vent when a skull is over it, and drops three brews on the entry tile before the room starts.
Ba-Ba
- (11:01) Gnomonkey says Baba is so easy now that you will probably use no brews, but you can use them if you mess up.
- (11:29) At Baba, Gnomonkey enters, drops one potion on a tile, spams Bandos godsword specs for 20 damage, then stands next to the rocks Baba drops, which means you take no damage from her big rock throw.
- (11:55) At Baba you must dodge shockwaves and stand next to the dropped rocks; Baba occasionally throws a big rock at you and standing next to the rocks avoids the damage.
- (11:55) At Baba, the spawned monkeys are tagged with the blowpipe, and Gnomonkey says any damage at all now guarantees a one-shot on them.
- (12:28) Baba's boulder phases happen at 66% and 33%; Gnomonkey equips the Bow of faerdhinen, dodges the bananas, stands in position and kills the boulder to end the phase.
- (12:28) Gnomonkey says that with the new changes Baba is a zero-damage room if you make no mistakes besides monkey chip damage, and that you do not need to flick prayer in any of the rooms with this setup.
- (14:00) Gnomonkey says to use brews freely at Baba if you take chip damage; his practice run used only two doses of brew.
Tombs of Amascut puzzle rooms
- (14:27) Gnomonkey uses the Tombs of Amascut plugin, which has a green highlight telling you which path to enter, and says to avoid the path with the pillars (obelisk) because it takes the longest to complete and damages you.
- (14:27) Gnomonkey uses the ToA Puzzle Solver plugin, which tells you what to do in the memory puzzle: run over the red tiles, and click tiles in the order they pop up.
- (14:54) In the solo matching puzzle room you only have to do two puzzles: tag four of the tiles to see their colours, remember them with the plugin, then match them from the other side; the fifth colour can be deduced as the only one left.
Kephri
- (15:56) Gnomonkey calls Kephri a pretty easy room, one of the easier ones.
- (15:56) Kephri launches fireballs that go high in the air and land where a shadow appears under your feet; you must move out of the way or pray magic in a pinch.
- (16:23) When swarm flies appear around you and there is a buzzing sound, Kephri shoots a line of dung that blocks movement; Gnomonkey places it to block the scarabs' path and steps to the side.
- (16:56) With the Overlords invocation Kephri spawns a spinning (ranged) scarab and a melee scarab once damaged enough; the line of dung makes the melee scarab take a long path.
- (17:28) After the update the Kephri scarabs have basically zero defence, so Gnomonkey kills everything in the room with the blowpipe except Kephri herself, who is hit with a fang.
- (17:28) In the first Kephri phase Gnomonkey shoots the melee scarab, then tags as many swarms as possible with the blowpipe (swarms that reach Kephri heal her and increase her health for the next phase), then kills the spinning scarab.
- (17:55) In the second Kephri phase Gnomonkey rotates around and places a second dung line to trap the melee scarab, then shoots the arcane scarab with the blowpipe; he says to kill the trapped melee scarab because it heals Kephri a lot.
- (19:24) At Kephri Gnomonkey notes she has very high defence to slash so the Bandos godsword takes a while to land 20 damage; in this run he landed a 15.
- (19:24) Kephri's smaller eggs explode in a small area and deal a little damage, while the larger eggs spawn an enemy and do not explode, with a three by three area around them dealing damage.
- (22:22) Gnomonkey says after the third Kephri shield she goes to green health which resets defence, but she dies very quickly; stay near a corner and run to the corner when swarms are on your character to keep the dung contained.
- (23:16) Gnomonkey says you can use the Kephri room's supply deposit to deposit anything, not just potions, after the update, and deposits his divine potions there since they are not needed after Kephri.
Zebak
- (25:58) Gnomonkey says the green tiles in the Zebak room show the 10 tile range, the farthest the Bow of faerdhinen can reach Zebak from.
- (26:29) Zebak's blood spawns follow you with a ticking health bar and die eventually; if you stand on the opposite side of the room from where they spawned (left or right) they die right as they reach you, otherwise they heal the boss and gain health from you.
- (27:02) Zebak's bite can kill you in one hit, but it has a delayed attack, and dodging two tiles backwards avoids it.
- (27:02) At Zebak Gnomonkey runs in and uses the Bandos godsword for 20 damage, then stands on the left side because the left side always solves the jug special attack.
- (27:58) Gnomonkey says you can flick magic prayer to block Zebak's blood barrage so that it does not heal the boss or damage you, but if Zebak is enraged at a low raid level (level one) it cannot be blocked, and it can only be blocked at level two or three.
- (28:27) Gnomonkey says not to run straight behind Zebak's waves because they drag you and deal damage, which can kill you, even though the change made this a bit less bad.
- (28:54) At Zebak, the top left tile always has a solve for the first set of barricades and the middle of the room always has a solve for the second set; Gnomonkey says this is how to handle the Upset Stomach invocation.
- (29:24) Gnomonkey says Zebak's blood orbs follow where you were on a delay, so you can trail them around the room, and that when swarms spawn during waves you must dodge them in a zigzag.
- (29:24) Gnomonkey says to take off your boots at Zebak for a bit of ranged accuracy since boots have negative one range, and notes Zebak uses very few supplies.
Akkha
- (30:57) For the Akkha mirror puzzles Gnomonkey uses the puzzle solver to place mirrors on red tiles and mines the wall so the laser bounces to the pillar; standing a little away from the pillar and clicking when it turns green speeds up mining (tick manipulation).
- (31:55) A lower mining level or a worse pickaxe makes the Akkha pillar mining slower, possibly needing two or three attempts, since late arrival spawns another set of mirrors.
- (32:23) Gnomonkey says the fancy butterfly methods for Akkha are not needed at 300 but are needed at raid levels like 400, 450 or 500, and he has guides for butterfly with the Bow of faerdhinen and with the Atlatl.
- (32:56) Akkha can only be drained by 10 and recovers it rapidly, so Gnomonkey attacks him with the Bow of faerdhinen and spams Burning claws when he can.
- (32:56) After the update, Akkha only prays against the style he is currently using, starting with melee, then ranged, then mage, so players never have to use magic at Akkha any more.
- (32:56) At Akkha Gnomonkey camps the Bow of faerdhinen, switches to the fang when Akkha is in ranged style, and uses a blowpipe on the shadows.
- (33:29) Gnomonkey says Akkha maxes about 7 with melee in a 300 raid and his chip damage is much lower than it used to be.
- (33:59) Gnomonkey says the blowpipe is about 10% better DPS than the Bow of faerdhinen on Akkha's shadows because they have incredibly low defence, while Bofa is better on Akkha himself because he is tankier.
- (34:58) Gnomonkey says the Shadow is still best in slot against Akkha, but if you do not have one the Bow of faerdhinen has become the new strong option.
- (35:27) Gnomonkey says Akkha is the most useful room to have a Blood fury because it heals the chip damage back immediately.
- (35:27) Gnomonkey says the Akkha colour radius marker is available from his Twitch chat command !akkhacolor, showing which style Akkha is using by colour, and Simon Says (the memory puzzle) is probably the most common cause of death in the room, requiring dodging every two ticks.
- (36:44) Gnomonkey says you can use Death charge on Akkha's shadows to get extra Burning claws specs, and to use all of your specs before the final Cum phase because it makes Akkha jump around the room.
- (37:15) After the update, Akkha's final phase (the Cum phase) is dramatically easier, with far fewer of the hazards than before; Gnomonkey previously considered it probably the hardest part of the raid.
- (37:32) In the final phase at Akkha Gnomonkey spams fang specs; Akkha jumps around the room every time you do three hitsplats that are not zero.
The Wardens
- (40:40) Gnomonkey says the Warden is now actually the hardest part of the raid, since Akkha's last phase became easy.
- (40:40) In Warden phase 1 Gnomonkey always blocks the left side with the lanes of skulls charging the wardens, and says the right side is bad; blocking the right makes the Warden in later phases chase you, do more melee damage and give worse ghosts on phase 3, resembling the challenge mode variant.
- (41:30) In Warden phase 1 Gnomonkey drinks an adrenaline potion (half spec cost for two and a half minutes), enters, specs with Bandos godsword until 40 damage, blocks four orbs, then goes to the side, equips the Bow of faerdhinen, shoots the pillar and AFKs, because it blocks all the orbs that spawn.
- (42:15) Gnomonkey changes his Chugging barrel shift-click from destroy to resupply before Warden so you can shift-click the bag to refill potion doses without opening it.
- (43:27) In Warden phase 2 white skulls are ranged attacks and red energy skulls are mage attacks, and the core that shoots out of his chest is his real health bar and takes guaranteed max hits.
- (44:00) In Warden phase 2 Gnomonkey attacks with magic first, then with the core exposed uses five Dragon dagger specs and one Bandos godsword whack to bring Warden just below 60%, alternating magic and ranged each time he gets up.
- (44:48) Gnomonkey explains he does not kill the Warden at the second down (a two down) because you still get points for the third down, which makes more money.
- (46:39) Gnomonkey says a ranged thrall stuns you if it hits you and can cause you to get hit by specials, so dodge it.
- (47:59) Gnomonkey says the Warden's most dangerous special is a cross pattern, and standing two tiles next to the shadow on the ground avoids it; after the change it can no longer go underneath Warden.
- (50:00) In Warden phase 3 Gnomonkey skull skips: he does not kill the skulls (which spawn every 20% damage dealt) because killing them damages the Warden by 5% of his health and removes damage you can deal, so skipping them gets more points and more loot; he stands at the back of the room and spam clicks with a ranged weapon so the character auto-dodges.
- (52:47) In Warden phase 3 at 60% Zebak's ghost spawns and Gnomonkey prays against the first attack, then spam clicks; at 40% Baba's ghost spawns and he dodges one boulder and then spam clicks.
- (52:47) Gnomonkey says Warden phase 3 gives the best points of the whole raid.
- (55:23) In the final Warden phase Gnomonkey runs up and uses Bandos godsword aiming for 60 damage, noting a 300 raid typically has plenty of DPS and rarely needs last row.
- (55:50) In the final Warden phase there is a six-tick cycle of shadow, shadow, shadow then strike, strike, strike lightning; stepping on the first shadow as it strikes avoids all damage.
- (56:24) Gnomonkey says last row is not a DPS check: you can dodge about 95% of the lightning patterns, shooting once each time you step on the first shadow, and this matters more at 500 than at 300.
- (56:59) Gnomonkey says to use ambrosia and brews freely in the final Warden phase if learning, since he has four ambrosia sips giving 400 health in overheal plus brews.
Ambrosia
- (40:01) Gnomonkey says Ambrosia in the Warden fight supply gives a full overheal, overprayer and full run energy in one sip, with four sips guaranteed, making you basically immortal if used when about to die.
- (40:01) Gnomonkey says players stop using ambrosia as they get better at the raid.
Tombs of Amascut supplies
- (24:32) At the choice after Kephri Gnomonkey always picks Power (Salts), saying you need enough salt to carry you through the next rooms, which are an overload-like stat boost, and he picks Life second.
- (39:02) At the Warden supply choice Gnomonkey picks Life with no thought, and says that as you improve you will take double Power, and never needs to look at Chaos.
- (39:50) Before the Warden Gnomonkey pulls out one of every supply, maybe two brews and a restore, and says one of the supplies is a prayer item that restores prayer rapidly when thrown on the ground.
Thralls
- (3:01) Gnomonkey says thralls add 0.625 DPS on every boss, around two thirds DPS, which speeds up the raid by several minutes especially with weaker gear.
- (3:01) Gnomonkey uses a Book of the Dead as his offhand switch to summon thralls in ToA.
Death charge
- (3:26) Gnomonkey recommends double Death charge in ToA, saying it is very strong there and that the raid can be done without it but he highly recommends getting it first.
- (19:24) Gnomonkey uses Death charge on Kephri, on Akkha's shadows and on the Warden core to get extra special attacks.
Blood fury
- (1:25) Gnomonkey highly recommends a Blood fury when learning ToA because it negates Akkha's chip damage and mistakes, though it is semi-expensive.
- (35:27) Akkha is the room where Blood fury is most useful, according to Gnomonkey, since it heals chip damage back to full.
Gnomonkey
- (0:00) Gnomonkey says this guide is from the point of view of a main with a little cash and that an ironman version of the guide would come in the next couple of days.
- (0:00) Gnomonkey's description says most tiles and highlights in the video are Twitch chat commands, including !boulders and !akkhacolor, and that the Tile Pack plugin has 4 tick butterfly tiles and !3tbutterfly covers Atlatl and Eye of Ayak.
