Topics covered
Odablock 2v2 PvP Challenge
- (0:00) Odablock invited SickNerd, Skillspecs and Gnomonkey to a 2v2 PvP challenge in which each player gears up for two hours and then the teams duel Deadman Mode style.
- (1:05) Odablock's usual challenge format is a two-hour segment from scratch followed by a fight at the end; this time it is a 2v2 with Odablock and Gnomonkey against SickNerd and Skillspecs.
- (1:59) Rule for the challenge: each player gets one hour of optional PvM and one hour of PvP, and in PvM each monster may only be killed once, so each boss gets one kill count.
- (2:53) Rule for the challenge: all four players stay in the Discord call the whole time, because Odablock thinks it is more entertaining and gives more trash talk.
- (3:23) Rule for the challenge: no Chaos Altar, because on the 2350 total level worlds some people risk one to three million and just run around naked donating it.
- (3:53) Rule for the challenge: the Construction cape and Magic cape are free to use as much as you like; players without 99 Construction should bring house tabs but not sell them.
- (3:53) Rule for the challenge: unlocking untradeables such as the Avernic defender, Infernal cape, quiver and Divine wound pouch costs one million per item and cannot be refunded when gearing for the final fight.
- (4:22) Rule for the challenge: players should try to track potions and supplies as cleanly as possible (Odablock says do not be a rat), and can buy things like 100 blighted anglerfish for about 15k in one chunk.
- (5:21) Rule for the challenge: players could take a weapon costing 250k out of the bank after paying 250k for it (heard as the Arcan blade), described as a very cheap but good weapon.
- (5:54) To handle a kill's loot cleanly, bank the loot and pull out the matching amount of coins (for example 487k) so it counts as money earned.
- (8:09) Teleport crystals are not allowed; players must teleport with the Construction cape to Prifddinas instead of going to the Grand Exchange.
- (9:22) Odablock's plan for himself and Gnomonkey was to start with one Corrupted Gauntlet run each, then PvP for an hour to stack cash, and use the rest for PvM such as Colosseum.
- (10:27) Agreed team plan: Gnomonkey and Odablock do Corrupted Gauntlet first for starting cash, then PvP for the hour, and Gnomonkey then attempts Colosseum with the money, while Odablock PvPs for the rest of the time.
- (18:18) Odablock tells Gnomonkey to buy cheap PvP gear including a rune crossbow, black dragonhide top and bottom, rune gloves, climbing boots, a glory and a water staff, plus Ranging potions.
- (36:34) Odablock tells Gnomonkey to use all the money earned for the Colosseum run rather than wasting time teleporting back, and the unlock rule is applied with a dragon defender costing 60k that comes out of the money.
- (1:09:04) Odablock told Gnomonkey he is now A tier at PvP in his head, upgrading an earlier B tier ranking.
- (1:10:16) After the gearing hours, Sicknerd's team guessed about ten million GP combined, while Odablock said his own side had about 4.8 million because he died once.
- (1:12:25) The final duels were fought as singles like Deadman All-Stars, with Gnomonkey going first and then Odablock, in a best of three between the two teams.
- (1:16:49) Gnomonkey used the Detached camera plugin to watch the duels, after Odablock told him about it.
- (1:37:31) In one duel, a freeze tracker showed one side landing 10 of 41 freezes and the other 22 of 38.
- (1:42:28) At the end of the stream the participants offered each other rematches and a 1v1, and said they were down to do more events like this.
Gnomonkey
- (0:00) Gnomonkey says he does not PvP at all and treated this challenge as a way to dip his toes in, hoping to get more PvP practice before Deadman Mode.
- (9:22) In the challenge, Gnomonkey plans to do the Colosseum himself because he can clear it and it is really good consistent money.
- (38:31) Gnomonkey says he cannot claim Colosseum loot early on his one kill count, because the challenge rules mean he has to clear the run no matter what.
- (1:42:56) In the video's description Gnomonkey says the footage is a condensed VOD from his point of view and that the challenge reminded him of the Settled/Solomission PvM challenge but for PvP.
Corrupted Gauntlet
- (11:29) Everyone starts with one Corrupted Gauntlet run for cash; players discuss going into tier two versus tier three, and one player says he took tier two and then tier three weapons.
- (17:36) A participant's Corrupted Gauntlet run gave about 180k, which Gnomonkey says is better than average, with the average being about 100k.
- (18:04) One participant's Corrupted Gauntlet loot was only about 60k, which he called the worst drop he had gotten in Corrupted Gauntlet history, with items like 200 cosmic runes and 31 emeralds.
- (1:07:11) For the remaining time Gnomonkey considered a normal Gauntlet, since it needs no gearing up and so makes money for free, and a Red Gauntlet loot was roughly 40 to 50k.
Fortis Colosseum
- (37:15) Gnomonkey starts his one allowed Colosseum run using the money earned in the Wilderness, with a plan to finish in under 45 minutes.
- (50:46) Gnomonkey says a good Colosseum run is at least a million and a really good one around two million, and this run was a little over two million.
- (51:16) Colosseum quiver splinters are worth about 500k, which is not included in the two million figure.
- (55:25) Gnomonkey estimates about a 5% death chance on a clean run, and says that on an earlier run he died once to Doom while flicking badly and getting clipped.
- (59:38) At wave 10, 75 onyx bolts was loot of roughly 650k (listed as 653k), a wave Gnomonkey said was not worth the stress.
- (1:06:13) Gnomonkey cleared the Colosseum and Doom for a total of about 1.5 million plus a quiver, which he said was just straight two million.
- (1:07:11) A rule question came up on whether Gnomonkey could do an early clear of Doom, and the answer was that he could only do an early clear once.
Wilderness
- (21:37) Odablock's Wilderness plan was to find a player fighting a boss, freeze them, then DD under them with crossbows out and step away on the same tick the boss's attack procs so the boss hits the target.
- (22:05) To land this, you must catch the freeze immediately on entering the area, so Odablock says to turn on Augury, find the target and freeze right away; make sure skull prevention is off.
- (23:06) Odablock tells Gnomonkey to bolt the target, DD under, and run at the last tick so the target keeps getting hit by the boss's circles.
- (25:35) Gnomonkey and Odablock's first kill with this method was worth about 400k, the next was about 697k and the following one about 849k.
- (29:37) In the Wilderness boss fights, protect from melee when the boss is near you, and protect from range when it is not.
- (30:36) After missing about four kills to splashing, Gnomonkey and Odablock invested in better mage bonus gear, with Odablock suggesting Mystic robes, so they could actually cast and land freezes.
- (31:33) A kill in Callisto's cave was worth at least a million, reported as about 1.2 million.
- (36:08) Their last Wilderness kill brought the loot to about 687k, putting the total at several million for Gnomonkey's Colosseum run.
Update: Wilderness bot ban wave
- (23:06) Odablock says a ban wave a couple of days before the challenge took out all the bots in the Wilderness, and the new bots log off in under a tick before you can even appear.
- (1:09:04) Odablock says that after the bot ban wave the Wilderness feels completely changed and much deader than it used to be.
- (1:11:30) Gnomonkey's side says the bot ban wave cleared out Wilderness bosses, so most of their money came from PKing small 2v2 fights rather than bots.
