Summary
Gnomonkey completes a 500 raid level Tombs of Amascut run with a budget Bow of faerdhinen setup, no yellow Keris and the Overly Draining invocation, aiming for a fang kit. He argues the Summer 2025 ToA update made 500s much easier and walks through each room, with emphasis on prayer flicking, Double Trouble Akkha and last-row Warden.

Topics covered
Tombs of Amascut
- (0:00) After the Tombs of Amascut update, Gnomonkey says 500 raid levels are much, much easier, to the point where he thinks it is feasible to get your first Osmumten's fang kit (Fang kit) this way.
- (0:00) Gnomonkey says the gear setup in this video, without the rune pouch, costs about 280 million gp for a fang kit run.
- (0:26) Gnomonkey says doing a 500 without a Keris would have been almost impossible and an incredibly challenging run for him before the update, but he can now do it consistently.
- (46:29) Gnomonkey received a black gem (the Black tourmaline core) as his drop in this run and says it is better than a purple to him because he wanted it for a budget ironman guide.
- (47:00) Gnomonkey's 500 raid in this video took 47 minutes (with explanations and standing around not doing damage), and the previous run took 42 minutes; he says this would have been over an hour before the update.
- (47:08) Gnomonkey says if you run a Keris you would turn on Dehydration and turn off Overly Draining instead, and he plans a future budget guide with a Keris.
- (50:00) Gnomonkey says this no-Keris 500 run is easier and more consistent than the budget 500 with a Keris he did before the update, and that you do not need much gear to do 500s if you can do Akkha and last row Warden well.
Tombs of Amascut gear setup
- (0:26) Gnomonkey wears Blue moon hybrid armour (strength and mage armour) in this 500 run, saving about three slots, because melee DPS matters little in the two rooms he melees (Baba, which no longer hurts through prayer, and Kephri).
- (0:58) Gnomonkey strongly recommends a Blood fury without a Keris because it prevents using brews in every room before Warden; he says the six brews are all needed for Warden, and a Rancour would also work.
- (1:27) His ranged setup is a Bow of faerdhinen with Assembler (max cape), because Warden phase 4 is the hardest part of the raid and he wants as much ranged DPS as possible, and the Assembler also gives max hits.
- (1:55) Gnomonkey brings a whip to hit the core in Warden phase 2 because Overly Draining is on, noting it is a four down, and uses a basic mage swap that is only used in phase 2.
- (1:55) His 500 supplies include six brews (needed to tank orbs in phase 1 and all of phase 2), seven Sandfew potions, a prayer regeneration potion (equivalent to about two Sandfews, used throughout the raid), a Bandos godsword and a divine super combat for Kephri.
- (2:28) Gnomonkey brings a Bandos godsword instead of a Bone dagger even with Overly Draining on, because the godsword is better when forced to use ranged damage on Warden; he specs it on phases 1, 3 and 4 and uses it to last-hit the core in phase 2.
- (2:28) Gnomonkey says players with Aether runes (from Yama) get thralls and Death charge for free because Aether runes count as both cosmic and soul runes, though he says Death charge does not do much in this setup.
- (4:01) His 500 pre-pot is prayer regeneration, extended anti-venom, two divines and stamina.
- (16:34) Gnomonkey says Bone dagger was not fixed against Kephri in the update; he says developers said they would try but did not figure out how.
Invocations (Tombs of Amascut)
- (3:00) In this 500 run Gnomonkey has timers off (he came close to a sub-40 run but would not make it), no supply invocations, Walk the Path and Pathfinder, Deadly Prayers, On a Diet, Dehydration off with Overly Draining on, and every boss invocation on except Medic.
- (3:00) Gnomonkey does not like Pathmaster because it gives a level 4 Zebak, which he says sucks, so he uses Pathfinder instead.
- (3:26) This 500 setup has Double Trouble on at Akkha, which Gnomonkey says is semi-difficult and you probably want to practice first by doing Akkha first with Double Trouble on.
- (3:55) With Overlords on, Gnomonkey notes the extra Kephri spawns have no defence and can be ripped through like paper even in a 500.
- (17:30) Gnomonkey does Zebak before Akkha in this run because doing Akkha first could raise Zebak to level 4 under Pathfinder, which makes Zebak and Warden harder as Zebak's ghost attacks come out faster.
Monkey room
- (4:01) In the 500 Monkey room Gnomonkey says you need to get through without using any brew, by praying against the primary baboon of each wave, focusing the monsters that are hitting you, then putting melee prayer back on for the thralls.
- (4:21) In the Monkey room Gnomonkey runs up, drops three potions, equips a range weapon and uses a one-way trident to kill the adds, praying ranged when ranged baboons spawn and magic when mages spawn.
- (5:21) In the Monkey room's melee wave Gnomonkey says to kill the shamans first, and the wave after is the one wave where you have to tank, so go straight for the ranged baboon.
- (6:21) Gnomonkey took only about 10 damage in the Monkey room and healed it back with Blood fury; he says you will probably end the room with 30 to 50 health and should heal slowly with Blood fury at Baba instead of using brews.
Ba-Ba
- (6:50) Gnomonkey says Baba never hits through prayer after the update, so tanky armour is not needed and Blue moon is fine; you should flick prayer as much as possible and one-tick flick Piety with protect from melee.
- (7:23) At Baba you can one-tick the monkeys that spawn, which are the only thing that hits you in the room, and you dodge shockwaves while standing next to the boulders.
- (7:49) Gnomonkey says double Death charge (free 30% with Yama) lets you get back to 100% spec around phase 2 at 50% if you missed the Bandos godsword.
- (8:43) At Baba Gnomonkey sits on the corner of the boulders so that when she does the knockback he can run to the other corner, and notes many players get trapped in the corner and hit by shockwaves unnecessarily.
- (10:45) Gnomonkey says even in a 500, Baba is totally free and just takes a while, especially when the Bandos godsword misses; he says his godsword was trashed that day.
Kephri
- (11:16) At Kephri Gnomonkey drops two lines of dung to trap the melee scarab, noting at 500 you have plenty of time to drop both.
- (12:16) Because he has no blowpipe in this setup, Gnomonkey kills the spinning scarab right away and does not try to catch swarms, letting Kephri heal fully, which only makes the room slower.
- (12:43) Gnomonkey says the Osmumten's fang never misses and it is incredibly rare for the trident to miss on a 500 melee scarab.
- (13:45) The arcane scarab jumps off thrall hitsplats and any zeros you land, and as long as you land three splats on it, it jumps, so you no longer have to worry about it.
- (14:40) Gnomonkey says his favourite thing about the update might be bullying the arcane scarab.
- (15:15) At Kephri, Gnomonkey kills the spinning scarab, then the melee scarab, then Kephri.
- (16:00) Gnomonkey says learning to lazy flick the offensive prayer is the biggest skill for 500s because it lets you bring far less restore; camping ranged Piety/Rigor in this room uses two to three restores while he uses about one dose.
Prayer flicking
- (16:00) Gnomonkey says learning to lazy flick the offensive prayer is probably the biggest thing for 500s because it lets you bring much less restore.
- (19:00) With prayer regeneration, Zebak should be a zero supply room, and Gnomonkey ended it with about 80 to 90 prayer points; he says you can flick just the offensive prayer, camp the overhead and use about one restore dose.
- (40:20) At Warden Gnomonkey says about two restores are enough to full camp prayers, and he still flicks because it leaves extra prayer; he ended the raid with four restores left.
- (47:00) Gnomonkey says there is plenty of wiggle room in the Sandfew supply so you do not have to flick perfectly, but he says it is not enough to never flick through the raid, and that you can use roughly three Sandfews in total and still be fine.
Zebak
- (17:33) Gnomonkey says a level 4 Zebak is a hard room and also makes Warden harder, though you can still complete the raid with it; it happens sometimes but is fairly rare.
- (18:59) Gnomonkey camps the left side of the Zebak room so he is next to the jug that always has a solve for the barricade special, and because blood spawns spawned on the left side never reach you when standing on the left red tiles.
- (19:42) At Zebak, the barricade solve is in the middle of the room, except about 5% of the time when you have to hit the bottom left jug.
- (20:31) Gnomonkey turns the camera to look down the room for Zebak's waves so he can see what is coming and dodge; he can do a wave skip by stepping away from the true tile and stepping through it.
- (21:31) At level 3 Zebak you can flick and block all the blood barrages in the last phase, taking no damage, while at level 4 you cannot block them and take guaranteed chip damage.
- (22:31) Gnomonkey says Zebak's blood spawns that spawn on the opposite side die on the tick they reach you, so you never get hit by them.
Akkha
- (23:30) After the update you no longer need to hit the green tile to get a one down on the Akkha pillar puzzle; with 99 mining you only have to be next to the pillar.
- (23:57) Gnomonkey does Bofa butterfly at Akkha throughout (he has a separate guide), and says the main difficulty with Double Trouble is getting through Simon Says while orbs are being dropped.
- (24:25) To survive Double Trouble Akkha, Gnomonkey moves two tiles every time he moves, which always leaves a safe spot at the end of each movement, and for memory detonations he continues moving two tiles at a time.
- (25:25) Gnomonkey says to practice Double Trouble by doing Akkha first with stamina potions, and notes there is a rare Simon Says pattern where you cannot run two tiles and must instead step one tile or move diagonally.
- (25:55) Gnomonkey says you do not need to flick at Akkha and can just camp Rigor, since flicking during butterfly is difficult.
- (27:01) Gnomonkey says Akkha is probably the hardest room for the no-Keris 500 besides Warden, because you cannot make mistakes and cannot afford to drink brews; the main challenge of the run is doing Akkha perfectly and doing phase 4 Warden perfectly.
- (27:57) If you do not make a DPS skip at Akkha, Gnomonkey says that moving immediately gives one tick of grace, and that you can also step diagonally backwards, so moving two tiles is a general rule not a hard rule.
- (29:25) With Keep Back on, Gnomonkey says you must stay out of range whenever Akkha attacks and use ranged and magic, which is fine because after the update you never have to melee Akkha.
- (30:56) Gnomonkey says dodging the final Akkha phase (Cum phase) matters and the update made it easier, with about 30% fewer orbs by his estimate.
The Wardens
- (31:58) In Warden phase 1 Gnomonkey spends an adrenaline potion to dump two Bandos godsword specs into the obelisk; if both miss you get an extra set of orbs (three instead of two), and six brews are enough if everything else goes well.
- (32:58) In Warden phase 1 you want to tank four skulls (sets) at some point before the Warden dies, which gets you the correct Warden, then just chug brew; Gnomonkey says the six brews go here because without a Keris there is no efficient way to heal.
- (34:29) In Warden phase 2 you can reduce damage by standing in melee range and praying melee right after hits: the melee hit maxes around four while the magic and ranged attacks chip tens, so taking more melee hits means less chip damage.
- (35:26) In phase 2 Gnomonkey says to not use the Bandos godsword spec early on the core, and that counting hits is the hardest part of phase 2 Warden, with eight hits when brought below 80%.
- (37:23) Gnomonkey says you cannot use brews in other rooms because the brews are only for Warden, otherwise you will not make it.
- (38:59) In Warden phase 3 Gnomonkey normally spends an adrenaline dose to double spec phase 3 and another for phase 4, though in this run he wasted his adrenaline at Zebak.
- (40:57) In this Overly Draining 500 setup Gnomonkey tells viewers not to skull skip in Warden phase 3 (the only time he says so) because it makes you use more prayer and the fight takes longer.
- (42:27) Gnomonkey calls Warden phase 4 probably the hardest part of the raid and says players struggle most with last row Warden, but that it is not a DPS check and almost everything can be dodged.
- (42:56) For phase 4, Gnomonkey sips adrenaline when Warden is under about 6% health before phase 4 starts (it begins at 5%), then does a double Bandos godsword spec aiming for the 60 damage cap, though he says a missed spec is fine since you can last row indefinitely.
- (44:30) Warden's last row lightning is a six-tick cycle (shadow, shadow, shadow, strike, strike, strike); you step onto the first shadow that appeared as it strikes, keep out of spots that had a shadow when they first spawned, and move back to the middle in between.
- (45:35) Gnomonkey says last row Warden is doable with practice, that nerves are the biggest problem on your first 500, and that you can last row for 20 minutes if you get good, even down to around 10 health.
