Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey says hard mode Maiden makes blood spawns invincible so you want to freeze them, and each crab that reaches Maiden makes her attack a tick faster; he thinks it is about on par with regular Maiden, just more punishing, with less fun skill tech like MG or stacking.2
  • Gnomonkey says hard mode Bloat turns more often and more randomly, drops meat even when he is down, and has more health, making Bloat less interesting because stomp tick tricks are now random and he can turn right into you, though it is still A tier.3
  • Gnomonkey says hard mode Nylocas adds mini-bosses and reflects damage when you hit clumps with the wrong style, making it less skilled because chinning and barraging clumps is lost, and says hard mode Nylocas Vasilias punishes you for teammates' positioning (magic hits only the targeted player if clumped, ranged hits all) and is a step down from regular, still S tier.4
  • Gnomonkey says hard mode Sotetseg shoots two death orbs to be split across teammates and has per-person maze chunks, which adds little, placing it about equal to regular Sotetseg.5

Trivia

  • Only a handful of people had completed a solo hard mode ToB; the description puts it at approximately 20-30 people, and Gnomonkey did not think he would ever attempt it.1
