Gnome and Monkey locked Ironman is an account topic that Gnomonkey covers in 3 videos between 2019-07-24 and 2019-08-07. This article is a stub: his statements are grouped by type, repeated ones merged.

Tips

  • The account may leave to do tasks for the gnomes or monkeys, including quests and Gnome Restaurant, but all items for these tasks must be foraged within the restricted areas.1
  • Exceptions Gnomonkey makes: buying a house and bringing a saw (needed for Eyes of Glouphrie) and a fishing rod to allow fishing later, since he found no way to obtain them within the restrictions; he also later needs Druidic Ritual to access Herblore.1

Events

  • Gnomonkey's Gnome and Monkey locked Ironman may only use content within the Tree Gnome Stronghold, Battlefield and Tree Gnome Village, and later will access Ape Atoll.2
  • The goal of the account is to complete every gnome and monkey related quest, up to and including Monkey Madness II; Gnomonkey does not plan to go for 99s because the account is so restricted.3
  • Episode 1 represented about eight hours of playtime, and Gnomonkey expects progress to be slow for a while.4
  • Gnomonkey previews that the next episode will finish the Tree Gnome Village quest and take on the Khazard Warlord.5
  • Episode 2 of the gnome and monkey only Ironman series covers the Tree Gnome Village quest and the Khazard Warlord.6
  • After dying to the quest part, the minigame teleport to Castle Wars needs 20 minutes to recharge, so Gnomonkey must run back by foot to the Gnome Stronghold for food; he notes he forgot he has to walk past White Wolf Mountain.7
  • With no food in the bank, Gnomonkey picks up swamp toads for food and has about 43 minutes left on his grave timer when retrying.8
  • Gnomonkey eats the kebab before the part where he is hit very low and uses Thick Skin, which lets him retrieve his items on the retry.9
  • About seven hours of footage in the episode were corrupted, so Gnomonkey summarises that he killed hill giants and hobgoblins and obtained an iron kite shield, a steel longsword, an iron full helm and some runes.10
  • He still needs the Grand Tree quest to use the other spirit trees, but expects it to be a while because the black demon will be hard.11
  • Gnomonkey theorycrafts how to kill the black demon in the Grand Tree quest, saying it is weak to magic but he cannot really get runes, so he expects to use the short bow and arrows.12
  • Gnomonkey finds a bot or something buying out the arrows, making restocking difficult, and manages to buy about 500.13
  • Gnomonkey does a maze random event and takes the final reward rather than opening chests.14
