Methods

  • For Duradel XP, Gnomonkey leaves unblocked tasks that are good XP or quick: Abyssal demons (especially with a teleblock-based block scroll from zombie pirates), Dark beasts (about 15 per task, finished in five minutes), anything done by bursting or in multi-combat that gives good XP.1
  • Gnomonkey's Duradel XP block list: metal dragons, hellhounds (unblock for Cerberus), kraken (unblock for pet), greater demons (since high weight), plus three bad eight-weight tasks such as black demons, gargoyles, Suqah, drakes or worms.2

Stats and numbers

  • Abyssal demons and boss tasks are Duradel's most common tasks, each with a weight of 12.3
  • Fossil Island wyverns have a weight of 5 from Duradel and are also assigned by Konar with the same weight, which matters if you plan to do hydras later.4
  • After the update all metal dragons are lumped into one task with a weight of 14, which Gnomonkey calls the highest weight he has seen on any Slayer master.5
  • Tormented demons give about 80k XP per hour and are good XP, but the long task makes overall XP worse than good burst tasks, so greater demons are blocked.6

Tips

  • Ankou are an extremely fast task for points: kill them as quickly as possible in the Stronghold Slayer Cave catacombs, taking about five minutes, though they are terrible XP and GP.7
  • Adamant dragons are a very fast task for points if you have a lance or even a Zamorakian hasta; they are decent money but bad XP, so Gnomonkey says always do it if you have one of those, and not otherwise.8
  • Zygomites are one of the worst tasks for GP and XP in the game, but take five to ten minutes, so Gnomonkey says they are worth doing for points.9
  • To always block metal dragons on every Slayer master since the weight is ridiculous, and he thinks a weight of 9 or 10 would have been better than 14.5

Gnomonkey's opinion

  • Gnomonkey considers Duradel the best Slayer master for Slayer XP in the game.10
  • Gnomonkey says some tasks he skips, such as gargoyles and Kurasks, are ones other players should do at certain points in their account.10
  • Drakes are Gnomonkey's final block slot: with the Dragon hunter lance you can hit 30k Slayer XP an hour and about 600k GP an hour before supply cost, which is worse than gargoyles and not AFK, so he says they are definitely not worth doing.11
  • Gnomonkey calls Suqahs a great cannon task for Slayer XP at 60k XP an hour but a pure loss, since they basically have no drops, and worth doing if you have the money for cannonballs.12
  • Gnomonkey calls trolls a very good cannon task: ice trolls provide over 50k Slayer XP an hour and have decent drops that can make up the cost of cannonballs, and he would always do this task.7
  • Gnomonkey calls dust devils one of the best burst tasks: over 70k Slayer XP an hour, normally paying back the cost with drops, a staple burst task always worth doing and extending.4
  • The transcript garbles this task's name, but it appears to be Kurask: Gnomonkey says it is a great task for money, better than gargoyles at a solid 1m GP an hour with a good superior, but only 20 to 25k Slayer XP an hour, so he skips it at his stage.8
  • Gnomonkey says Duradel has become the meta Slayer master for XP, far better than Nieve/Steve, who has many bad tasks such as Minions of Scabaras.13
